Widgets and the home screen
A widget puts your next trip on your home screen, so you can see when to leave without opening the app.
What there is
- Next trip (free): your upcoming trips, up to five, on the home screen.
- Countdown, Departure board and the iPhone lock-screen widgets (GoSEQ Pro).
- Live trip on the lock screen while a trip is on. On iPhone this needs iOS 16.2 or later.
- App-icon shortcuts: press and hold the GoSEQ icon for up to four, like Bus home or To School.
Add one
In the phone app, open Me → Widgets. It shows what’s available and how to add it, and Home has a card that links there. On your phone this is the usual way: press and hold an empty spot on the home screen, tap the add (+) or Widgets button, then choose GoSEQ.
Where they work
- Android app (Google Play): yes.
- iPhone: widgets and the lock-screen live trip come with the App Store app. Until then, the web app added to your Home Screen sends trip alerts, but has no widgets. See goseq.app/get.
- In a browser: no widgets.
Setting a widget up well
A widget shows the trips you’ve set up, so do your School or Work routine first. Keep notifications on, and on Android allow GoSEQ to run in the background so a trip keeps updating.
Pro styles
If Pro ends, Pro-only widget styles and icons go back to the standard ones. Nothing is deleted, and they come back if you subscribe again.
